SEO / GEO Strategist
Location: Remote
Type: Part-Time (15-20 hours/week) availability overlap with 9-5 US Eastern Time.

Position Overview:
Everything Bagel Partners is looking for a Part-Time SEO / GEO Strategist with deep experience in CPG and DTC brands to help us grow organic demand across traditional search and emerging generative search platforms (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.).
This role is ideal for someone who understands how consumers discover, research, and evaluate CPG products online-and knows how to translate that behavior into high-impact content, technical SEO strategy, and brand visibility across AI-powered search experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
SEO Strategy & Execution
  • Own and evolve our organic search strategy across branded and non-branded queries
  • Conduct keyword research focused on category education, problem/solution, and product comparison queries
  • Optimize site architecture, on-page SEO, internal linking, and technical foundations
  • Partner with brand, ecommerce, and performance teams to turn insights into execution

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)
  • Develop strategies to improve brand visibility in AI-driven search and answer engines
  • Optimize content for inclusion in AI summaries, citations, and conversational results
  • Identify opportunities to position the brand as an authority within key CPG categories
  • Monitor changes in generative search behavior and recommend proactive adjustments

Content & Education
  • Inform the creation of educational, comparison, and evergreen content that supports the buyer journey
  • Optimize blog, PDPs, category pages, FAQs, and educational hubs for discoverability
  • Ensure content reflects brand voice while maximizing search performance

Analytics & Reporting
  • Track and report on organic traffic, rankings, share of voice, and GEO performance indicators
  • Identify insights, wins, and opportunities through Search Console, GA, and third-party SEO tools
  • Communicate findings clearly to stakeholders with actionable recommendations

Client Communication: available to meet with clients via video and communicate via Slack during work hours (9am-5pm Eastern US)
Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years of SEO experience, with direct experience in CPG and/or DTC brands
  • Proven success growing organic traffic and revenue in competitive product categories
    Strong understanding of consumer research behavior for physical goods
    Hands-on experience with on-page, technical SEO, and content optimization
  • Familiarity with AI-powered search platforms and evolving SEO best practices
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize impact in limited hours

Preferred Skills:
  • Comfort using ecommerce platforms: Shopify, WordPress
  • Proficiency in project management tools like Asana to organize and streamline workflows.
  • Comfort within Google Suite, particularly Google Docs and Google Sheets.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, ensuring smooth communication across copywriting, design, and technical groups.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, adept at managing tasks for multiple accounts simultaneously and prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment, and communicating proactively.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with subscription-based CPG or omnichannel retail
  • Experience optimizing for Amazon or marketplace search (a plus)
  • Familiarity with tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and GSC
  • Copy or content strategy background
