Job description

Paid Training Provided

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a Part-Time Crew Chief to lead and support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who participate in our community-based janitorial services program. This position combines hands-on cleaning responsibilities with coaching, supervision, and skill development while working at contracted locations throughout Ocean County.

As a Crew Chief, you will travel between service sites, provide instruction and guidance to crew members, and help ensure cleaning assignments are completed safely, efficiently, and according to established quality standards.

  • Must be available to work at least one weekend shift each week
  • Evening and weekend availability required
Compensation
  • $22.25 per hour
  • Bi-weekly pay schedule
Essential Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support individuals participating in a community-based janitorial work crew.
  • Provide hands-on training, coaching, and encouragement to help crew members develop workplace skills and independence.
  • Work alongside crew members while performing cleaning and custodial tasks at multiple contracted locations.
  • Ensure assigned cleaning duties are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with customer expectations.
  • Monitor work quality and provide constructive feedback to crew members as needed.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with agency and workplace safety standards.
  • Transport crew members to and from job sites using agency vehicles.
  • Maintain professional relationships with customers and community partners.
  • Assist with documenting program activities and reporting operational concerns to management.

Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is welcomed but not required.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Valid New Jersey driver's license in good standing required, with no more than five (5) points.
  • Ability to safely operate a 10โ€“12 passenger vehicle.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of janitorial, custodial, or commercial cleaning experience required.
  • Experience with floor care procedures, including stripping, waxing, and maintaining large floor surfaces required.
  • Must successfully complete all required state and federal background screenings and hiring requirements.
