Part-Time Handyman / Property Maintenance Technician โ€“ Airbnb & Rental Properties
Location: Monroe County, NY

  • Compensation: $25-33/hr. (1099 Independent Contractor)
  • Time Commitment: 30โ€“40 hours per week (As Needed)


ABOUT THE ROLE:

  • We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Handyman to support the maintenance and upkeep of a growing portfolio of Airbnb and long-term rental properties. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in keeping properties guest- and tenant-ready. This is not a traditional maintenance position with set hours. Work is assigned as needed, with the greatest demand occurring on Friday and Sunday afternoons during guest turnovers and on short notice for emergencies. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and able to coordinate with the property management team and outside contractors to ensure repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Property Maintenance & Repairs
  • Perform basic home repairs and general maintenance tasks
  • Complete punch-list items between guest and tenant stays
  • Repair or assemble furniture as needed
  • Perform light landscaping and exterior property upkeep
  • Move and reposition furniture when necessary
  • Conduct move-in and move-out property inspections
  • Identify maintenance issues and report larger repairs to Property Operations
  • Coordinate with specialty contractors, including HVAC, appliance, electrical, and plumbing professionals
  • Ensure properties are clean, safe, and ready for guests or tenants
  • Complete assigned maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Document completed work and update task status through online management systems
  • Communicate regularly with the property management team regarding repairs, priorities, and property conditions
  • Occasionally communicate with landlords regarding maintenance needs or project updates


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic handyman or maintenance experience
  • Own a basic set of hand tools
  • Ability to troubleshoot and complete minor repairs independently
  • Comfortable using websites or mobile apps to receive and update work orders
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and move furniture and maintenance materials
