Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position $92,330-$125,305. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. About the Role: Sawdey is seeking experienced subject matter experts to provide operational and technical support to Headquarters United States Air Force (HQ USAF). Support includes managing Joint-level irregular warfare tasks and supporting the Ready Airman Training (RAT) program.
Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:
  • Provide operational and strategic SME-level support in the areas of irregular warfare and Joint Staff Action Process (JSAP), including broad-canvas expertise.
  • Apply expertise to support implementation of strategic guidance, including the National Defense Strategy (NDS) and the National Military Strategy (NMS), including support to the Joint Strategic Planning System.
  • Provide analysis, research, and policy support.
  • Conduct research in joint integration, capacity and capabilities assessment, and planning, strategy, policy, and concepts development.
  • Conduct open-source and classified research and analysis related to Air Force strategy development, strategy implementation, and participation in defense strategy reviews.
  • Prepare background papers and briefings for senior leaders.
  • Provide operational expertise in the areas of non-Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) education and training and maintain knowledge of deployment and individual readiness requirements.
  • Maintain close working relationships with Air Education and Training Command (AETC) and other MAJCOMs through participation on Air Force, Joint Staff, and OSD-level working groups.
  • Coordinate with Joint organizations, DoD organizations, and other Services regarding readiness and deployment training in support of Ready Airman Training and its connections to Air Force Force Generation (AFFORGEN), Agile Combat Employment (ACE), Multi-Capable Airmen (MCA), and other deployment models.
  • Support Air Force Instruction (AFI) activities.
  • Conduct the annual Advanced Ready Training data call and produce the subsequent Training Guidance Letter.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of current experience within the last five (5) years in irregular warfare and irregular warfare-related issues.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of current experience within the last five (5) years supporting individual Airmen deployment and readiness requirements.

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (BA, BS, etc.) required
  • Master's Degree is desired

Other Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Experience applying irregular warfare expertise to implementing strategic guidance, including the National Defense Strategy and National Military Strategy. Must be able to effectively communicate with customer and fulfill all duties and responsibilities as listed in the contract.
  • Experience with USAF Agile Combat Employment (ACE) and Air Force Force Generation (AFFORGEN) concepts.
  • Relevant expertise and experience supporting long-term and future architecture planning efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, presenting, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge of Air Force Service-level planning and programming.
  • Some travel required.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite including, but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
