Job description

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH)  is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Care Department in Bolivar, Missouri — someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve. 

Position Details 

  • Status: Part-Time 
  • Work Shift: Nights 
  • Hours: 6pm-6am, 48 hours per pay period
  • Shift Differential: $2.25/hr. - 11pm to 6am

What Your Day Looks Like: The Respiratory Care Department sets a high standard for patient care and seeks to provide timely and quality respiratory care to inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients under medical supervision. 

As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be:  

  • Performing pulmonary function tests to measure lung volume and flow, and analyzing blood samples using blood gas analyzers to check oxygen and carbon dioxide levels 
  • Administering aerosolized medications, performing chest physiotherapy, and managing life-support systems such as mechanical ventilators  
  • Teaching patients and their families how to properly use inhalers, oxygen tanks, and ventilators at home, and counseling individuals on disease prevention or smoking cessation 
  • Reviewing patient progress, and making adjustments to treatments as needed 
  • Updating patient records to document procedures and verbal orders for therapy and equipment  

Qualifications: 

Education: Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapist program with an Associates Degree 

Skills: Communication, teamwork, compassion, time-management 

Licensure/Certification: Current State of Missouri Registered Respiratory Therapist  

Physical Requirements: Frequent walking, standing, bending; performing repetitive movements; ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs - 20 lbs.
