Become a key player in the financial success of Paul Mitchell The School Wichita as our new part-time Bookkeeper – Accounting Assistant. BOOKKEEPER - ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT BASICS:

Located in Wichita, KS, this part-time opportunity offers competitive pay of $25 – $30 per hour, depending on experience. We also offer a remote-friendly schedule and the chance to support a renowned, locally owned beauty school.

Your part-time schedule will average 8 – 10 hours per week, with flexibility to fit your lifestyle. The majority of your work will be completed remotely, with an on-site visit to the school required about once a month.

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS MATTER

As a part-time Bookkeeper - Accounting Assistant, you will focus on maintaining the school's daily accounting operations. You'll enter, code, and manage vendor invoices, process payments, and organize vendor records using QuickBooks Online. Your day will include recording customer payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and supporting account reconciliation. Bi-weekly payroll processing, maintaining payroll records, and coordinating with management regarding employee changes will be part of your routine. You'll categorize expenses, match and code receipts, perform bank and credit card reconciliations, and maintain digital accounting records. Banking responsibilities include daily Positive Pay approvals and monitoring cash management, while close collaboration with the CPA and management will ensure financial records remain current and audit-ready.

BOOKKEEPER - ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must live in Wichita or surrounding area
  • 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online
  • Experience processing payroll
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality

Preferred:

  • QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification
  • Experience with QuickBooks Payroll, Gusto, ADP, or similar payroll platforms
  • Experience supporting small businesses or multi-department organizations
