Job description

Applications are invited for a full-time/part time faculty position as an Academic Nephrologist in the Department of Pediatrics at Albany Med Health System and Albany Medical College. We are seeking an outstanding board-certified/board eligible Pediatric Nephrologist to join a vigorous clinical program directed toward the diagnosis and care of children with kidney diseases. The successful applicant will be the second/third member of the division. The group provides critical clinical and academic services that help to support the missions of the Bernard & Millie Duker Children's Hospital at Albany Med Health System and Albany Medical College. Outstanding clinical care and recognized teaching excellence are the cornerstones of the group. The division oversees the onsite Pediatric Dialysis Unit and contributes to our multispecialty outpatient pediatrics program, which includes multidisciplinary and satellite clinics. The division is supported by a robust pediatric urology division, transplant surgery program, and outstanding interventional radiologists.

Albany Med Health System is a large academic Medical Center in Albany, New York, the state capital. It is a Level I Trauma Center and the regional hub for all adult and pediatric specialties.

The Bernard and Millie Duker Children's Hospital, which houses a 60 bed NICU, 19 bed PICU, and a new pediatric emergency department that opened in 2018, is the site of inpatient care rendered by the division. Albany Medical College is a private medical school, and a nondiscriminatory AA/EOE institution. The successful candidate will enjoy many opportunities for teaching house staff and medical students and will be eligible for a faculty appointment in Albany Medical College, rank will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
