Job description


Type: Part-time / As-needed (W-2 or 1099)
Staffing goal: Hiring 5 regulars weekly + 5 on-call (bench for larger events)
When: Variable shifts; days, evenings after 5 PM, late nights (up to ~3 AM), and early mornings (as early as 5 AM). Weekend shifts often run 8-12 hours.
Where: Across the Tampa Bay area (venues, festivals, special events)
Pay: $16+ an hour based on experience
What you'll do
Pre-Event (staging & detail):
  • Place tables/chairs per floor plan; detail surfaces and glass; prep & stock restrooms; sweep/mop main areas; final readiness check before doors open.

During Event (porter services):
  • Trash flow: monitor cans, swap liners, move cans as crowds shift; haul to dumpsters/tilt trucks.
  • Restrooms: frequent touch-ups, restock, wipe counters/mirrors; quick response to shortages/spills.
  • Floors & touch points: spot-sweep/mop, wipe railings/door pulls/bar counters; rapid spill response for guest safety.
  • General site care: pick up litter/debris; follow supervisor directions; assist with urgent cleanups (including vomit).

Post-Event (deep clean & reset):
  • Full debris removal; disinfect surfaces and interior glass; restore floors; deep-clean bathrooms (incl. urinal grates); polish bins; wipe doors/frames; report damages.

Special areas you may service:
  • VIP/artist spaces, lounges, elevators, glass railings, back corridors, kitchens/BOH-kept spotless and guest-ready.
Tools you might use
  • Tilt trucks, pop-up trash cans, leaf blowers; venue auto-scrubbers and vacs where applicable.
Schedule reality (examples)
  • Porter coverage during peak hours with post-event cleaning after close, and occasional early-AM resets.

Requirements
Must-haves
  • Weekend availability (Sat/Sun) and weekday evenings after 5 PM as needed.
  • Reliable transportation to venues across Tampa Bay; punctual and phone-reachable during shifts.
  • Able to lift 20 - 50+ lbs and stay on your feet for long periods; comfortable working indoors/outdoors.
  • Follow a supervisor's instructions and use mobile checklists/photos for proof of work.
  • Willing to complete a background check and follow uniform/ID and security rules.
Nice to have
  • Event, janitorial, hospitality, or stadium/arena experience.
  • Familiarity with autoscrubbers, backpack vacuums, and floor/detail standards.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)
Employment options
  • W-2 employees (as-needed) and 1099 independent contractors (per assignment) are welcome.
  • Contractors may be asked to provide a W-9 and, when applicable, proof of insurance. (We'll match you to events based on availability and site requirements.)
