Job description

Benefits:
  • Equipment Provided
  • Competitive salary
  • Flexible schedule

We're looking for a Part 107 certified drone operator to perform exterior cleaning on commercial buildings using the Lucid C1 Sherpa drone on an as-needed, contract basis. For jobs where a boom lift won't work or isn't efficient, we deploy a drone instead. You'll be washing building exteriors, windows, and hard-to-reach surfaces across Westchester County, NY and Fairfield County, CT. This is not a full-time position. Work comes on a per-project basis. Project length varies from a few days to over a week depending on the scope. Frequency is unpredictable. There may be stretches between projects or several in a row.
This is a specialized role. You need to be a confident, precise pilot who can operate safely around commercial buildings in real-world conditions. Experience with the Lucid C1 Sherpa is ideal, but what matters most is proven commercial drone experience and the ability to fly accurately in tight spaces and around structures.
Responsibilities
Drone Operation & Cleaning Execution: Operate the Lucid C1 Sherpa to wash building exteriors, windows, and other surfaces that are difficult or impractical to reach by lift or ladder. Maintain precise control in varying wind conditions, tight spaces, and around obstacles.
Flight Planning & Site Assessment: Assess each job site before flying. Identify obstacles, airspace considerations, and potential hazards. Plan flight paths that allow thorough, efficient cleaning while maintaining safety.
Equipment Care: Perform pre-flight checks on all drone equipment. Monitor battery levels, spray systems, and flight controls. Flag mechanical or technical issues before they become problems in the air.
Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all operations comply with FAA Part 107 regulations and any local airspace restrictions. Maintain flight logs.
Coordination: Work alongside ground crew and communicate clearly during operations. Coordinate with management on scheduling, site logistics, and job scope.
Qualifications
FAA Part 107 Certification: Required. Non-negotiable.
Commercial Drone Experience: Must have real-world experience operating commercial drones in professional settings. Hobbyist or recreational flying alone is not sufficient. Experience with industrial or heavy-payload drones is strongly preferred.
Lucid C1 Sherpa Experience: A major plus. If you've operated the Sherpa before, you're exactly who we're looking for. If not, we expect you to be the type of operator who can get up to speed on a new platform quickly and independently.
Precision Flying: Comfortable operating in close proximity to building surfaces, windows, and other structures. This isn't open-field flying. Steady hands and strong spatial awareness are a must.
Valid Driver's License: Preferred. You may need to transport equipment to job sites.
Dependability: When a project is booked, we need you there. Jobs are scheduled in advance and clients are expecting us on a specific date.
Physical Requirements: Able to transport and set up drone equipment on-site. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Benefits and Perks
  • Competitive per-project pay based on experience and certification
  • Company equipment provided (you're flying our drone, not yours)
  • Work with cutting-edge cleaning technology
  • Flexible, project-based schedule that works around your other commitments
  • A role unlike anything else in the drone industry
If you're Part 107 certified, experienced with commercial drones, and want to do something more interesting than aerial photography, apply now.
