We are actively recruiting certified lifeguards for both summer and year-round opportunities at our indoor and outdoor pools located throughout the county. As a certified lifeguard, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our diverse communities through your expertise. The successful candidate will have a positive outlook, excellent communication skills, and a high level of self-motivation.

PRCS serves a broad spectrum of the population, including youth, adults, individuals with disabilities, and seniors. We are currently hiring at the following location(s): Ashburn Recreation & Community Center, Ashburn, VA Dulles South Recreation & Community Center, South Riding, VA Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center, Sterling, VA Round Hill Aquatics Center Indoor Pool, Round Hill, VA Franklin Park Outdoor Pool, Purcellville, VA (Summer Only) Lovettsville Community Center Outdoor Pool, Lovettsville, VA (Summer Only) As a certified lifeguard, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitors the use of aquatic facilities and equipment to ensure visitor and participant safety within the facility and compliance with applicable safety policies and practices. Rescues distressed persons, using rescue techniques and equipment.

Contacts emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury. Provides emergency care and treatment as required. Enforces pool rules.

Provides courteous and timely customer service to County staff, facility visitors and users. Refers customers to appropriate staff. Other key job duties relevant to the specific role and department may also be performed.

Lifeguard II (Grade 104): Must have HS Diploma (or equivalent) and hold the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at time of hire or obtain it within 30 days of hire. Job Contingencies and Special Requirements Must undergo a criminal background check.
