Position Title
PARK MAINTENANCE LABORER
Performs a variety of routine, unskilled or semi-skilled maintenance tasks using manual and/or light duty lawn equipment and mowers, and works within assigned municipal parks and common areas, under the immediate supervision of the Deputy Director or his designee. Job assignments include, but are not limited to, required labor in mowing lawns, trimming weeds and shrubs/bushes, weeding of landscape beds; picking up trash and debris, emptying and cleaning trash receptacles and replacing liners, transporting trash to outside disposal facility; sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping and/or waxing of floors; replenishing rest room and kitchen supplies as necessary; primes floor drains; opens, closes, locks and unlocks facility as needed; inspects and maintains assigned equipment to insure proper operating condition; reads and complies with all Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS); keeps records of work completed and time worked. Must have the ability to work safely; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees; and ability to carry out written and or oral instructions.
