Drywaller/Painter – Floating Position | Midwest Maintenance Services

Midwest Maintenance Services, the maintenance arm of GLR Companies, is hiring a Drywaller/Painter to support unit turns and repairs across our scattered-site portfolio in Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.

About Midwest Maintenance Services

Midwest Maintenance Services is the dedicated maintenance team operating under the GLR Companies umbrella, supporting GLR's multifamily communities across Northeast Ohio. We are active operators, not absentee managers — our team shows up, does the work, and holds every property to a resident-ready standard.

About the Role

This is a floating position with no home site. You will travel throughout our Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio portfolio, working across multiple properties as drywall and paint needs come up — unit turns, punch lists, repairs, and general upkeep. This role requires your own reliable transportation and your own hand tools, as you'll be moving between locations regularly.

What You'll Do

  • Patch, repair, texture, and finish drywall across multiple properties as part of the make-ready and repair process
  • Prep and paint interiors (walls, trim, ceilings) and occasionally exteriors to a consistent, resident-ready standard
  • Travel between sites throughout the Greater Cleveland/Northeast Ohio portfolio based on daily/weekly assignments
  • Complete work orders accurately and document work performed at each site
  • Maintain your own tools and supplies needed for drywall and paint work
  • Coordinate with property maintenance staff and the maintenance supervisor to prioritize and schedule work across locations
  • Keep a clean, safe, professional work area at each site you visit

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in drywall repair/finishing and painting (multifamily or residential experience preferred)
  • Own hand tools and equipment for drywall and paint work
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation (this is a floating role — mileage reimbursed per company policy)
  • Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule across multiple sites, and communicate progress clearly
  • Strong attention to finish quality and consistency across properties

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; climb ladders; stand, kneel, bend, and reach for extended periods; work indoors and outdoors in all Northeast Ohio weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations will be made in accordance with applicable law.

Pay & What We Offer

  • $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
  • $500 monthly Mileage reimbursement for travel between sites
