Job description

We're currently hiring seasonal part-time Golf Shop Attendants at Columbus Park GC! We're on the lookout for warm, outgoing, and people-first individuals who thrive in a hospitality environment. You don't need a golf resume - you need a great attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine love for creating memorable experiences for every member/guest who walks through our facility. Role Responsibilities:
  • Greet and assist golfers at the front desk and throughout the golf shop with a friendly, welcoming attitude
  • Process tee time reservations, check-ins, and payments accurately and efficiently
  • Assist guests with club rentals, cart assignments, and golf course information
  • Merchandise and maintain the pro shop, including stocking shelves and organizing displays
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for retail and service transactions
  • Coordinate with starter and ranger staff to ensure smooth flow of play
  • Answer phone and in-person inquiries about rates, events, and facility policies
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the golf shop, surrounding areas, and restrooms
  • Assist with golf leagues and tournament coordination as needed
  • Assist with end of month inventory procedure
  • Uphold a positive, team-first attitude and represent the course with professionalism
  • Process transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems, including cash handling and credit card processing
  • Maintain shop inventory by stocking shelves, organizing merchandise displays, and conducting regular inventory counts
  • Open and close the golf shop according to established procedures, including securing cash drawers and locking facilities
  • Assist golfers with tee time reservations, scorecards, and course information
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shop environment at all times
  • Coordinate with outside staff to ensure smooth flow of golfer check-in and course play
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds to assist with merchandise shipments and equipment handling.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager, which may include tasks outside the primary scope of this role in support of overall golf course operations.

Qualifications:
• Experience in golf, retail, or hospitality is preferred but not required - we will train the right candidate
• Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work opening and closing shifts
• Weekend and holiday availability is required
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills - you genuinely enjoy working with people
• Positive, coachable attitude with a desire to grow and improve
• Basic math and cash-handling skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work in both indoor and outdoor environments
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Age Requirement: Applicants must be 17 years of age or older to apply.
Schedule & Availability:
Our golf course operates seven days a week, including holidays and weekends. Candidates must have a flexible schedule that allows them to work any of the following.
• Opening shifts (early morning start)
• Closing shifts (evening close)
• Weekends (Saturday & Sunday)
• Holidays and peak season dates
