Job description

The Department of Surgery at Stamford Hospital is seeking an experienced Chief of Breast Surgery to serve as Co-Director of our newly renovated and transformed Stamford Health Breast Center. Our Breast Surgery Chief will join a team of two fellowship-trained breast surgeons in the multi-specialty physician group at Stamford Health and will co-lead our Breast Center with the Director of Women's Imaging.

The successful candidate will be fellowship trained in breast surgery and must have excellent interpersonal skills & the desire to provide superb patient-centered care. Having a strong interest in supporting resident/medical student education is highly desired.

The Stamford Health System is a community-based, academic medical center with comprehensive services in all surgical subspecialties. The Department of Surgery has a freestanding general surgery residency program and participates in the clinical education of medical students and physician assistant students. Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons has made Stamford Health its largest teaching affiliate. Additionally, Stamford Health is a Collaborative Member of the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center.

The Breast Center has received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, the National Accreditation of Breast Centers (NAPBC), and recognition as an Academic Comprehensive Cancer Program. Stamford Hospital has been distinguished as the Women's Choice Award winner for America's Best Breast Center, and the facility has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.
