Summary:

The Parent Partner Coordinator is responsible for general oversight and coordination of the Cook Childrens Health Plan (CCHP) Parent Partner Program that utilizes employed and volunteer Parent Advisors in multiple capacities.

Additional Information:

The goal of our Parent Partner Program is to achieve the highest level of family-centered care through the empowerment of the parents/families as partners at every level of decision-making within the health plan. The coordinator will identify new opportunities for members, parents, and families to be involved as advisors and advocates and work with CCHP leadership and staff to identify and recruit members and parents who can serve as volunteer advisors. The coordinator will also provide orientation and training to new parent employees and volunteers while providing oversight of parent advisors partnered with service coordination teams.
Required Education/Experience/Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor's degree preferred.

  • A parent or legal guardian of a child or youth with special health care needs.

  • Familiar with community, state, and federal resources available to Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs.

  • Ability to speak in public.

  • Basic personal computer skills and use of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., word processing, e-mail, calendar).

  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) Required.

  • Must pass Spanish test prior to hire.
