Job Description Summary

The Senior Manager Parcel Insights & Pricing is responsible for the daily support of business development, Ryder clients, finance team, and parcel operations with the analysis and review of pricing new business and analysis of and re-pricing existing business. The position is also client and prospect facing for support and solutioning. The Senior Manager develops and maintains analytical, pricing and P&L forecasting models and is responsible for training the analysts reporting to this position.

Essential Functions
  • Daily pricing support: Will oversee the performance of all pricing for any new and existing customers. Will provide analytical support to Director of Strategic Insights, Business Development team, and Parcel Operations to support decision-making.

  • Employee development and supervision: Assist in planning staffing requirements, hiring (internal & external), work plan development, employee training and development, employee review and performance appraisals, provide overview and direction on projects, facilitate the flow of work and communication among analysts.

  • Develops tools for pricing strategy and tactics: Oversees the development and continual enhancement of Pricing and Analytics models. Participates in strategy discussions to determine roadmap of analytics and pricing.

  • Client-facing Parcel Solution Design & Presentation: Support the Group Director of Parcel by assuming some of the client and prospect facing initiatives to respond to client needs and help business development in their selling process.

  • P&L Forecasting: Support the Group Director of Parcel and Finance in budgets and continual forecasts of client and prospect revenues and margins.

  • Reporting: Instrumental in development and continual support of client-facing automated reporting dashboards, and internal reporting dashboards.

  • Annual Price Increase Process: Assist the Parcel Billing Manager as required to ensure the GRI process is fully supported, with analyses and any back-end tasks as are necessary.

  • Python Advanced, Preferred

  • Technical proficiency in Strategic Analyses, Required

  • Proficiency with computer applications and sophisticated PC spreadsheets, Required

  • Knowledge of Logistics Preferred

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
