Paraprofessional duties and responsibilities
Paraprofessionals assist students and teachers to help ensure a smooth, productive school day. This often includes performing a mix of clerical, academic and behavior-management-related tasks.
Some paraprofessional job description includes:
  • Implement instructional plans provided by the supervising teacher
  • Create and oversee behavior-management plans
  • Transport students
  • Supervise students in the classroom and during certain out-of-classroom activities
  • Tutor students and assist in small group learning exercises
  • Help with admin tasks such as copying and filing papers, taking attendance and preparing lessons for teachers
  • Collaborate with other educational professionals to meet students' needs
