Job Summary
Under the direction of a credentialed Special Education Teacher, site administrator, or designated supervisor, the Special Education Paraprofessional Aide II provides instructional, behavioral, and personal support to students with disabilities in a variety of educational settings. The position assists in implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, supporting student access to instruction, promoting independence, and facilitating student participation in classroom and school activities.
The Special Education Paraprofessional Aide II works collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to provide individualized assistance to students with diverse learning, behavioral, communication, and physical needs. Responsibilities may include supporting academic instruction, reinforcing positive behavior strategies, assisting with classroom organization, collecting student data, supervising students in various school environments, and providing personal care or health-related support as needed within established guidelines and training.
The ideal candidate demonstrates patience, flexibility, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. The position requires the ability to support students in achieving greater independence, participate as an effective member of an educational team, and adapt to the unique needs of individual learners.
