Full-Time, 12-Month Position | Special Education School Program

Position Summary

The Lehmann School is currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Paraprofessionals to work with students with developmental and multiple physical disabilities in a school setting. This is a full-time, 12-month position, Monday through Friday.

Paraprofessionals work closely with our transdisciplinary team of teachers, therapists, nurses, and support staff to help students achieve their educational, behavioral, social, and daily living goals. Responsibilities include assisting students with classroom participation, personal care, mobility, communication, and educational activities in a supportive and structured environment.

This role requires the ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pulling, and pushing as needed to support student care and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with educational activities and classroom participation
  • Support implementation of individualized educational and behavioral goals
  • Assist students with personal care and daily living skills as needed
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, nurses, and other school staff
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, positioning, and physical support of students
  • Participate in school meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
  • Follow all LADACIN policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements
  • Cooperate fully with all licensing, accrediting, and funding source requirements
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a transdisciplinary environment
  • Ability to perform physical job responsibilities as required
