Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dedicated healthcare team in the Emergency Department of our rural hospital located in Ogdensburg, NY. This is a solo model APP/PA Emergency Medicine position.
Responsibilities:
    • Conduct thorough initial assessments of patients presenting to the emergency department.
    • Initiate appropriate diagnostic tests and interventions based on the patient's clinical presentation.
    • Perform procedures such as wound care, suturing, splinting, and other minor surgical interventions.
    • Manage acute and critical conditions, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and more.
    • Work collaboratively with the emergency department team, including physicians, nurses, paramedics, and other support staff.
    • Consult with specialists and arrange for the transfer of patients requiring advanced care to larger facilities if necessary.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of emergency care services in the rural hospital.
    • Maintain current licensure and certifications, including ATLS, ACLS, PALS, and others as required.

Qualifications:
