What are the Paralympic Games?

The Paralympic Games are a major international multi-sport event for athletes with disabilities, held every four years shortly after the Olympic Games. They feature a wide range of sports adapted for athletes with physical, visual, and intellectual impairments. The Paralympics aim to promote inclusion, showcase athletic excellence, and challenge stereotypes about disability. The Games are governed by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and attract thousands of athletes from around the world.

To thrive as a Paralympic athlete, you need exceptional athletic ability, sport-specific technical skills, and classification eligibility based on a recognized impairment. Familiarity with adaptive equipment, training technologies, and compliance with anti-doping regulations is crucial. Resilience, determination, teamwork, and a strong work ethic are standout soft skills in this role. These skills ensure athletes can compete at the highest level, overcome unique challenges, and represent their countries with excellence.

Job description

LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.
LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate all that this city and country have to offer, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners and our community.
The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles' third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.
Putting on an Olympic and Paralympic Games is a team sport. To build a Games unlike any the world has seen before, we need the best team in place-a team full of diverse perspectives, experiences and expertise. We are guided by the following set of values and behaviors-optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness-and look forward to hearing about how your past experiences align with them.
Associate, Broadcast Services:
The Broadcast Integration (BRS) Team's aim is to support the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) in the preparation and planning of the most seamless, innovative, and engaging broadcast of the Games.
The BRS team is responsible for delivering high quality facilities and services to the Media Rights Holders and OBS to ensure the best possible media coverage of the Games to the widest possible audience. To do this, the team liaises closely with OBS to manage planning processes related to broadcasting the Olympic and Paralympic Game. This includes hosting meetings and workshops, conducting surveys, and acting as the main point of contact with the other LA28 functional areas concerning the successful delivery of broadcast infrastructure at competition venues. Additionally, the team delivers services to OBS and media rights holders to support their operations - such as accommodation, accreditation, transportation, information, technology, technical support, warehousing, permitting, medical services, and other services at Games time.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Broadcast Services, this role will support the successful planning and delivery of all broadcast-related operations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This role will provide critical coordination and administrative support for key planning activities, including scheduling, documentation, and cross-functional engagement to enable and deliver broadcast services in the lead up to the Games Period and throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Key Responsibilities:
Administrative & Project Coordination
  • Schedule internal and external meetings, prepare agendas, and document meeting notes and follow-up actions.
  • Support the tracking of planning milestones, deliverables, and timelines across workstreams.
  • Maintain and update shared documentation, trackers, and planning tools for team use.

Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Support
  • Help facilitate communication between Broadcast Services and key LA28 Functional Areas.
  • Coordinate the collection and consolidation of information from stakeholders.
  • Support document management and version control for shared resources with OBS and third parties.

Games-time Readiness & Operations
  • Participate in planning sessions and venue readiness activities.
  • Support operational logistics for events and meetings including World Broadcaster Meetings or site visits.
  • Assist with basic venue setup tracking, scheduling tools, or service planning documentation.
Background & Requirements:
  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably in event operations, project coordination, live production, sports, or media.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Exposure to large-scale events, project-based work, or supporting cross-functional teams is a plus.
Expectations:
  • Team player who values the success of the team over self.
  • Creative problem-solver and critical thinker.
  • Service-oriented and reliable.
  • Genuinely curious and ready to think outside of the box.
  • Great communicator and unifier.
  • Assertive and confident.
  • Displays the highest levels of integrity and commitment.
  • Enjoys challenges and fast-paced work environments.
  • Finds ways to move forward without all the answers.
  • Values inclusiveness in all its forms.
  • Enthusiastic about sport and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
  • Understands how to deliver against an immovable timeline.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Available to work onsite in our Downtown Los Angeles-based office.
  • The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment.
  • The LA28 office is an open floorplan working environment; employees must be able to work efficiently in an open cubicle environment.
  • Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods.
  • Perform other duties as required; the role will evolve over time and may include operational responsibilities during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The annual base salary range for this position is $30.00-35.00/hr. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
LA28 does not provide relocation assistance.

LA28 will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance and all applicable laws. We strive to build a team that is inclusive and encourage qualified candidates of all backgrounds, perspectives, and identities to apply.
