Description:

Paragon, a fast-growing presence in DoD-related IT consulting, seeks a full range Network Engineer to respond to a multitude of DoD requests in a fast-paced, mission-critical, rapidly evolving DoD Command environment. The chosen professional must be able to diagnose and resolve Network-based mission-critical concerns across all classifications of networked systems.

The chosen Network Engineer will work with Paragon’s team of IT professionals, designing, implementing, and maintaining this Joint Command’s computer networks, ensuring connectivity, security, and optimal performance. This includes handling tasks like installing and configuring network hardware and software, troubleshooting issues such as outages, and monitoring network performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain computer networks including VPNs, routers, and other network devices.
  • Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
  • Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
  • Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
  • Implementing disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
  • Working with cloud-based network services.
  • Installing and maintaining firewalls and other security systems.
  • Monitoring network traffic and performance.
  • Troubleshooting network connectivity issues.
  • Updating and upgrading network hardware and software.
  • Developing and implementing network security policies.

Requirements:

  • TOP SECRET Clearance with the ability to be SCI eligible
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related discipline
  • Security+ CE certification – current and active
  • 5 years of related IT Networking experience, especially in a DoD environment
  • One or more of these certifications: CCNA, CCNP, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Network+
  • Knowledge of Wireshark
  • Foundation in networking fundamentals including LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, and routing and switching
  • Experience with network security, firewalls, and security protocols
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical thinking
