Job description

Job Summary

Develops and maintains the company production plan.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a production plan and inventory plan within lean environment.
  • Works closely with customer to meet production plans.
  • Identifies capacity constraints and brings recommendations to management for resolution.
  • Provides planning support to all new product introductions.
  • Pursues contentious improvement in all activities.
  • Assists in developing financial budgets.
  • Provide information on plant metrics and performance.
  • Routinely review performance against the existing production schedule and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Responsible for addressing backorders with vendors and developing plans to recover.
  • Maintains integrity of planning data within ERP system and conducts periodic reviews.
  • Responsible for performance management, including selection, training, employee development, performance reviews, cross training, and disciplinary action.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Once employee demonstrates competency in position, he/she may be required to train others in similar roles.

Education

  • 4 Year Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field preferred.  APICS certification preferred. 

Experience

  • 5-10 years
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred. Previous experience and knowledge of GMP within the medical device field preferred. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to independently solve problems and make recommendations.
  • Proactive approach in completing tasks and projects.
  • Leadership skills and ability to influence others.
  • Skilled in dealing with all levels of staff, production through management.
  • Strong interpersonal and employee development skills.
  • Ability to work and contribute in a team oriented, continuous improvement manufacturing environment.
  • Above average communication skills required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in written format.
  • Strong project management skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.

  • Previous experience with an MRP system preferred.
