About Avance ResidencyAvance Residency is made up of Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, Para Los Ninos, and Loyola Marymount University. The Avance Residency is a one-year, robust teacher preparation program for candidates from Central and South Los Angeles. Avance disrupts systems of inequity in teacher preparation to collectively innovate, transform, and provide access and advancement for educators, especially those from our historically marginalized communities. We invest in and develop them to thrive, so that our students receive the highest quality education starting on day one. In Avance, teacher residents learn what to teach, how to teach it, and build strong networks of support through cohort learning, mentorship, and university programs.
