What is a para in school?

A 'para' in school refers to a paraprofessional, also known as a teacher's aide or instructional assistant. Paras provide support to teachers and students in classrooms, often working with students who have special needs or require additional help. How does a paraeducator typically support teachers and students in a school setting?

They may assist small groups or individual students who need extra help, help manage classroom activities, and support students with special needs in both academic and social situations. Collaboration and clear communication with teachers and specialists are key, as paras often adapt to different tasks and grade levels throughout the day. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to make a direct impact on student learning and classroom success.
