Would you like to earn excellent pay while operating state-of-the-art equipment alongside a great team?ย  We're looking for aย QUALIFIED Offset Press Operator Assistant for our rapidly growing Whitsett, NC plant.ย 

In this role, you will be responsible for the performance of manual and machine tasks in the setup, maintenance, and operation of an KBA to accurately produce product to customer specifications.ย 


The Offset Press Operator is responsible for producing quality printed products within production standard guidelines and customer specifications.

  • Print job jacket items per company and customer specifications.
  • Assume proper operating procedures for the printing presses.
  • Adhere to all quality assurance specifications and color standard procedures; inform Press Supervisor of any problems/variances.
  • Learn and fill in all applicable areas of the job jacket, enter information on the waste form and job control procedure sheet.
  • Check cut order against the number of printed press sheets.
  • Practice total line clearance when jobs are complete, enforce same procedure to Press Helper.
  • Responsible for the efficient output and quality work standards of the Press Helper.
  • Operate printing presses per job specifications, production codes, and quantity output.
  • Perform necessary machine adjustments for proper quality and efficient production output.
  • Execute press checks, pull press sheets every 500th sheet and pull sheets every 1000th for comparison of color standard to okโ€™d press sheet.
  • Place cut down sheets in proper storage area after job completion.
  • Ensure press sheets are checked for correct position, dryness, registration, hickies, wash out, scumming, and marks.
  • Mark and record impressions on every 1000th sheet
  • Determine proper skid height from amount of ink coverage and assure press helper maintains the height.
  • Make certain all printed skids have load tickets/hold tickets attached; job number, operatorโ€™s initials and time printed.
  • Confirm that printed skids are in correct holding area and in job unitization.
  • Administer daily plate checks for each job.
  • Examine each job for offset.
  • Mount press plates for production, return used plates and die vinyl to holding area.
  • Use available die vinyl.
  • Conduct press approvals for Sales and/or customers for new items when applicable.
  • Apply press powder to printed sheets daily and correctly
  • Require all samples/proofs adhere to job specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance schedules when warranted.
  • Inform Press Supervisor of mechanical problems to press.
  • Perform proper procedures for 2-pass production job runs.
  • Deliver job jacket to next cost center upon job completion.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2 yearsโ€™ experience as Printing Press Operator.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong mathematical, computer and reading skills.
  • Must possess a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.
