We are so much more than a Parts Store and we are looking for even more great talent to join our NAPA family! As a NAPA Counter Sales associate, you are looked at as the "face of the retail store" and the go to person as soon as our customers enter our retail stores for all of their automotive needs. You don't need to be able to tear and motor down and rebuild it (however, if you can, that's awesome) - but we do need you to have a background and knowledge of automotive parts. A NAPA Counter Sales associate is a great opportunity whether you are looking to spend your career with us as a Parts Specialist, want to work full/part-time or you just want to get your foot in the door with us to explore other careers at some point - We welcome you!

What you will be doing:

  • Provide auto parts answers and solutions for our retail and wholesale customers in person at the counter/over the phone
  • Use your parts knowledge to assist other NAPA team members answer questions for customers
  • Providing outstanding customer care and interactions with everyone who comes into our NAPA Store!
  • Bring customer focus and high energy to our fast-paced stores

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Previous experience in a parts store or automotive industry or at least a willingness to learn all things auto parts.
  • High School Diploma or GED. Technical or Trade school courses or degree.

  • Love fast paced retail environments
  • Great listening skills and empathy for customers

  • Background and/or passion for automotive industry, heavy equipment, farm industry, diesel, marine, or dealership.

Summary

The Store Pro serves as the primary point of contact for customers in the retail store, representing the NAPA brand and delivering a high-quality customer experience. This role is responsible for providing automotive parts solutions, supporting both retail and wholesale customers, and contributing to store performance through product knowledge, responsiveness, and customer engagement. It offers a strong entry point or growth path within the organization

Responsibilities

The following primary responsibilities are not all inclusive:

  • Provide accurate automotive parts solutions to retail and wholesale customers
  • Deliver a consistently positive and engaging customer experience
  • Utilize product knowledge to assist customers and support team members
  • Operate systems including POS, inventory/catalog tools, and communication devices
  • Maintain high energy and customer focus in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Support store operations including transactions, inquiries, and general workflow
  • Build relationships with customers to drive loyalty and repeat business
  • Utilize delivery management systems to coordinate and dispatch deliveries, pull and prepare orders for customers and drivers, and support efficient logistics and fulfillment operations.
  • Perform general housekeeping, cleaning, and organizational tasks to maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming store environment.
  • Assist with inventory control activities, including receiving merchandise, stocking shelves, conducting cycle counts, and helping maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Contribute to various store operations and team support tasks as needed to optimize store performance, merchandising, and overall efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to store processes and operational standards.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong listening and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to learn automotive parts and technology systems

Preferred:

  • Experience in automotive, retail, or parts environment
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle repair or maintenance
  • Knowledge of inventory or cataloging systems
  • Background in automotive, diesel, heavy equipment, farm, marine, or dealership environments
  • ASE Certification (not required)

  • Standing for extended periods and frequent movement within the store
  • Ability to lift and move automotive parts and materials (moderate weight)
  • Use of computers, phones, and POS systems regularly
  • Fast-paced environment requiring multitasking and responsiveness
