Ahlstrom is seeking a Maintenance Engineer at the Nicolet plant in De Pere, Wisconsin. This position has responsibility for aiding in the day-to-day troubleshooting of process/reliability issues, execution of maintenance activities and management of capital improvement and maintenance projects. This position will work closely with manufacturing, provide support in maintenance functions, individual equipment, process line, and mill outages.
Requirements
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
  • Related experience within maintenance/manufacturing preferred
  • High safety awareness and focus on injury prevention
  • Strong technical aptitude and proven problem solving abilities
  • Quality mindset with an emphasis on continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to achieve results on-time and within budget.
  • Project management and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of CMMS and JDE preferred

Responsibilities
  • Review, develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance processes to reduce unplanned downtime and increase overall asset efficiency
  • Work with plant teams and maintenance personnel in identifying and planning daily, weekly, and shutdown work
  • Manage multiple capital and maintenance projects
  • Initiate and facilitate improvement projects within the maintenance area
  • Investigate maintenance needs to support operations
  • Support and assist maintenance craftsman with daily work
  • Act as a fill-in Maintenance Supervisor as required
  • Work with suppliers and contractors for assigned projects
  • Provide maintenance coverage for start-ups from outages
  • Develop and/or manage training sessions for craftsman in maintenance related topics
  • Manage parts inventory
  • Must follow Ahlstrom's manufacturing and hygiene processes, procedures and policies, as applicable, to the position's areas of responsibility, in order to meet and maintain the safety, quality, and regulatory compliance requirements for each grade of paper
