Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Support the health and sustainability of all people and property at camp. It is important for a custodian to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, sanitizing, and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism and long-term damage to the facilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces
  • Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets
  • Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock items such as paper towels and toilet paper as needed.
  • Wipe mirrors and windows
  • Report damage and issues to leadership staff so they are addressed as quickly as possible.
  • Work as part of a team that serves high quality programming to Girl Scouts year round
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances
  • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors, summer staff, and parents
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to stand for an extended amount of time and traverse uneven terrain
  • Must be able to complete & clear a Criminal, and Sex Offender background check
  • Prefer to be 21 years or older and have a clean driving record to use equipment
