Job description

Position Title: Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OB/GYN)
Location: Upland Hills Health - Dodgeville Hospital Campus
Role amp; Department: Physician/Surgeon in the Obstetrics amp; Gynecology Services Department
Hours amp; Shift: Full-time to Part-time position based on physician's needs. Monday through Friday scheduled shifts with on-call responsibilities
Role Responsibilities:
  • Seeking an OB/GYN physician who is passionate about caring for women and treating their medical needs
  • Will test, treat, diagnose and monitor disorders and illnesses related to women's health and their reproductive system's
  • Will perform exams and procedures, counsel patients, and treat women through their entire pregnancy terms and beyond
  • Interview new patients to assess their symptoms, needs, or problems; record and utilize their medical history for diagnosis
  • Perform well-women exams that include pap smears, pelvic, and breast exams
  • Conduct follow-ups with patients to monitor and track their condition
  • Counsel patients on safe sex practices and preventative medicine practices
  • Provide surgical and procedural work as necessary for OB and GYN patient needs
  • Monitor and treat patients during pregnancy and childbirth, including prenatal advising up to delivery and postnatal care
  • Order and analyze necessary tests, screenings, biopsies, scans, etc. to effectively diagnose a problem
  • Direct, advise, and supervise medical staff including medical assistants, LPN's, medical students, etc.
  • Continue personal education on current medical practices and innovations by reading medical journals, attending conferences
Qualifications:
  • Must have obtained a Doctorate of Medicine
  • Must have completed a 4 year OB-GYN residency
  • Must have a valid license to practice and board-certified in the State of Wisconsin
  • Prior OB/GYN experience is preferred but those completing their residencies will be considered for this position
  • Proficient at patient charting and knowledgeable with EPIC's medical record system would be very beneficial
  • Able to effectively monitor and manage other medical staff and assistants
  • Compassionate and personable with an exemplary bedside manner
  • Ability to positively interact and communicate well with all medical providers, staff, patients and families is essential
  • Should have sound judgement and expert decision-making abilities
  • Continued interest in professional growth through attendance of continuing education, in-services
  • Membership in professional organizations preferred
Very competitive salary, benefits and incentive package available for full spectrum OB/GYN candidates! This position will join an OB/GYN practice of 2 OB/GYN providers and several Family Practice providers that provide OB and C-Section services. On-call responsibilities are part of this position.
