Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, machine drawings, and layout prints.
  • Assemble, wire, and test industrial electrical control panels.
  • Install and wire electrical components including circuit breakers, disconnects, contactors, relays, overloads, timers, transformers, power supplies, terminal blocks, PLC hardware, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Perform point-to-point wiring of control panels and machine systems.
  • Lay out electrical components within control panels according to design drawings and standards.
  • Drill, tap, cut, and modify panel enclosures for component installation.
  • Install and route conduit, wireways, cable trays, and electrical wiring on machinery and equipment.
  • Operate fabrication and assembly tools including knockout punches, hole saws, jigsaws, drills, and other hand and power tools.
  • Work with electrical systems ranging from 24VDC control circuits to 480VAC power distribution.
  • Support machine wiring, final assembly, and electrical integration of custom equipment.
  • Assist with machine power-up, validation, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical control systems and wiring issues using electrical drawings and test equipment.
  • Verify completed work meets quality standards and electrical specifications.
  • Assist with equipment tear-down, preparation for shipment, and installation support when required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable electrical safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of electrical panel building, machine wiring, industrial electrical assembly, or related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Knowledge of industrial control components and electrical assembly practices.
  • Familiarity with PLC hardware and industrial automation systems preferred.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
