    Job Summary: The Component Sales Representative professionally represents Truss Craft to customers, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and company branches. This position uses industry and product knowledge to develop customer relationships, identify project needs, and promote and sell manufactured building components, including roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels.

    Responsibilities & Duties
    • Learn and maintain knowledge of company products, procedures, culture, and customer service standards.
    • Develop a strong working knowledge of wall panels, floor trusses, roof trusses, engineered wood products, conventional framing, and related building components.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, subcontractors, customers, vendors, and company branches.
    • Establish and maintain a plan to routinely meet with contractors to develop relationships and grow component sales.
    • Identify customer and project needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
    • Provide customers and subcontractors with product and technical information, using industry knowledge and experience to answer questions and assist with more complex inquiries.
    • Review architectural plans, structural plans, and project specifications and work with contractors to identify and clarify conflicts or discrepancies.
    • Prepare and follow up on quotes, estimates, sales opportunities, and customer projects.
    • Coordinate with customers and internal departments to ensure project requirements, orders, and specifications are communicated accurately.
    • Work closely with customers and appropriate departments to coordinate and schedule deliveries.
    • Maintain communication with customers throughout the sales and order process and assist in resolving questions or concerns.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and their sales teams to support continued business and sales growth.
    • Provide feedback to management regarding customer needs, market opportunities, and demand for wall panels, floor trusses, roof trusses, engineered wood products, and related components.
    • Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, company products, and competitor activity.
    • Maintain accurate customer, sales, and project information.
    • Understand and follow all company safety procedures and practices to help prevent injury to self and coworkers. Attend required safety meetings and recommend improvements to safety procedures when appropriate.
    • Professionally represent Truss Craft in all interactions with customers, contractors, vendors, branches, and other business partners.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
            Qualifications & Requirements
            • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
            • Five (5) or more years of truss sales, truss design, or related industry experience preferred.
            • Knowledge of trusses, component manufacturing, and residential or commercial framing practices.
            • Working knowledge of construction practices, with an emphasis on framing.
            • Ability to read, interpret, and understand blueprints, architectural drawings, structural plans, and project specifications.
            • Knowledge of company product pricing, discounts, estimating formulas, and pricing guidelines.
            • Basic math and measurement skills with the ability to perform calculations related to building materials and component projects.
            • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
            • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, customers, vendors, and coworkers.
            • Ability to organize and manage multiple customers, projects, quotes, and deadlines.
            • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally as needed for customer and jobsite visits.
            • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation, including occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
