Description
The pre-finish technician will prepare Pella Window and Door products for finishing with either a stain or paint. This includes the disassembly of products, preparation of surfaces, masking, staining or painting, proper reassembly and repackaging. A keen awareness of the details and pace of work to maintain quality and production rates is required.
Responsibilities
  • Unpack the product using a process that allows you to reuse the original packaging material.
  • Disassemble, reassemble and re-package window and door products without damage.
  • Stain windows/doors to match the expected color the customer has approved.
  • Move product from station to station throughout the production process facilitating the daily production goals.
  • The position also requires sanding, cleaning, and masking products with a high level of detail.
  • Stage completed material on carts for return to the Warehouse.
  • Comply with the established Safety Policies and guidelines.
  • Complete any other departmental responsibilities assigned by your supervisor and team lead including cleaning and stocking materials.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Adaptable to changing processes and priorities.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
  • Routine heavy lifting up to 50 pounds using safe lifting techniques.
  • Ability to stand for majority of shift.
  • Ability to use power and hand tools, masking tape tool and hand sanding pads required.
  • Knowledge of general construction applications (window and door applications preferred)
  • Drives safety in the environment, through the implementation of safe processes and develops a safety conscious work team.
