Job description

Overview
Direct testing and development activities for refrigerated products produced at all Global Hussmann divisions. This position is responsible for developing test requirements to support the test objective, interpreting the results, and documenting the testing activities. The incumbent selects and applies standard laboratory procedures and develops new test procedures as needed to ensure all necessary testing is completed to meet the project goals. The incumbent can make necessary modifications and adaptations to the testing equipment to achieve the testing objective.
Responsibilities
  • Set up, conduct, monitor, and perform tests for refrigeration systems and related components.
  • Evaluate test results and make necessary changes in the testing program or modifications of equipment under test to continue with test objectives.
  • Translate project objectives into a schedule of activities covering testing and evaluation.
  • Provide feedback regarding refrigeration system design, performance, heat transfer characteristics, controls, and operational reliability.
  • Assist in the validation of new technologies, refrigerants, components, and system configurations.
  • Prepare test reports detailing the objectives and conclusions of the testing project.
  • Analyze laboratory test procedures and determine areas of improvement, as necessary.

Qualifications
  • A BS degree in an engineering discipline is required. BS degree(s) in Mechanical Engineering, preferred.
  • Engineer II - requires 2-5 years applicable experience
  • A strong understanding of thermal systems or refrigeration is required
  • Excellent communication skills, oral & written
  • Strong analytical skills

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of natural refrigerants CO2, AL2, R290 a plus.
  • EPA certification (universal) for refrigerant handling preferred.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification a plus.
