Job description

REMMEY - THE PALLET COMPANY is one of the largest manufacturers of NEW wood pallets in the Tri-State region. REMMEY owns and operates two manufacturing plants in Pennsylvania (Lehighton, PA and Beaver Springs, PA) cutting, nailing and delivering over 12,000 pallets daily. To complement the pallet manufacturing capacity, REMMEY recycles and repairs some of the common sizes pallets and is licensed and certified to Heat Treat (HT) pallets in accordance to the IPPC-ISPM #15 International Export regulations.
Overview:
The plant operates numerous industrial saw lines and automated pallet assembly equipment. The maintenance technician will work with the maintenance staff to ensure all equipment is in peak operating condition. This is completed as part of the preventative maintenance program and on the spot repairs and diagnosis of breakdowns.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Participate in preventive maintenance (PM) program to ensure minimal operational disruption and equipment downtime
  • Keep detailed PM, parts and equipment records for management
  • Identify need for and recommend repair and/or replacement of equipment and facilities
  • Adhere to Remmey safety standards at all times to ensure a clean and safe work environment

Job Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • A strong background in electrical and hydraulic industrial equipment
  • Proficiency with a computer and the use of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with inventory management controls
  • Experience in a sawmill or pallet company is a plus
  • General - verbal communication, process improvement, organization, multi-tasking, problem solving, presenting technical information, analyzing information, decision making
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of situations in an efficient manner
  • Ability to meet deadlines while establishing strong relationships

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour + Attendance bonus of up to $80.00 per week + Shift Differential
Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
