Fiduciary Real Estate Development (FRED) is looking for a skilled Painter to join our maintenance team. What You'll Do
  • The region you will cover is multi-state (WI and IL). When working in IL, if multi days are needed, you will need to stay in IL and we will provide hotel accommodations (Generally 3-4 days in a row, approximately 1-2 times a month). 
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, patching, and priming walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
  • Perform interior and exterior painting projects at apartment communities.
  • Complete drywall repairs, texture matching, and surface preparation to ensure a professional finish.
  • Paint apartment homes, common areas, offices, amenity spaces, and other community features.
  • Maintain painting tools, equipment, and supplies in a clean and organized manner.
  • Protect surrounding areas and furnishings during painting projects.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas while minimizing disruption to residents.
  • Accurately document time tracking, daily logs, and assigned work orders.
  • When painting jobs are complete, you would be assigned to assist with work orders and apartment turnover preparation to ensure units are perfect for our residents and are move-in ready (30% of job will consist of these tasks).
  • Assist with snow removal and salting of walkways as needed is a mandatory function of this position.
  • Report areas of disrepair or maintenance concerns to the Property Manager.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous professional painting experience required; multifamily, residential, or commercial painting experience preferred.
  • Experience with drywall repair, patching, texturing, and surface preparation.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, products, finishes, and proper application methods.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with residents and team members.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and auto insurance are required. You will be provided a work truck when working in IL 80% of the time. 20% of the time, you will need to use your own vehicle.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance is required.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions while wearing required safety equipment.
  • Must be able to commit to 1-2 on-call rotations annually if needed (one week of evening and weekend coverage).
