Description This position is responsible for performing building maintenance and repair including all aspects of interior and exterior maintenance. Duties also include performing various skills in repair and maintenance of new and current construction and includes, but is not limited to painting, electrical, plumbing, concrete repair and the operation of associated building maintenance equipment and vehicles to keep County facilities attractive and safe. Examples of Duties Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems with failed or broken HVAC equipment, lighting, mechanical, plumbing, etc.
Diagnoses, repairs, and/or replaces parts in HVAC equipment, lighting, plumbing, etc. Inspects and checks HVAC units, motors, fans, valves, plumbing, and lighting on a routine schedule. Assembles and moving of furniture, fixtures, etc.
Routinely cleans gutters, downspouts, HVAC coils, filter compartments, etc. Observes all approved safety and health policies and procedures pertaining to his/her work activities and performs all work tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with County policy. Performs other assigned duties.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Very heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires the use of fingers, balancing, climbing, crouching, grasping, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; Three (3) years of related work experience; Or equivalent training, education, and/or experience.
