Job Purpose

To efficiently perform maintenance and repair on numerically controlled Company equipment by applying cost-saving strategies and ensuring Graco quality standards are met.

Essential Duties

  • Reassemble and adjust machines as necessary to keep all Graco hand, semi-automatic, CNC, and other production equipment in good working order.

  • Troubleshoot issues to determine the course of action and consult with management as necessary.

  • Perform diverse mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, machining, aligning, machine rebuilding, electronic and testing operations to assure maximum efficiency from manufacturing equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and complex repairs on all company-owned machine tools, assembly equipment, and Graco owned manufacturing assets.

  • Provide support to departmental personnel as workload dictates. May include mentoring of other mechanics.

  • Keep accurate maintenance records.

  • Order parts/supplies and maintain inventory accuracy.

  • Meet operational requirements and expectations for accuracy of work, while minimizing waste by caring for product, equipment and facilities.

  • Maintain a productive and efficient work environment.

  • Follow all required safety guidelines and utilize the proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Diagnose and repair difficult malfunctions and obtain or fabricate replacement parts.

  • Assigned mentor relationship for newly hired Mechanics at various levels (primarily Ds and Cs).

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

Education

  • Associates degree in electrical, electronics, hydraulics, fluid power, robotics, or related field and a minimum of 128 hours of maintenance/machining programs after associate's degree obtained (i.e., Mechanical Troubleshooting, PLC Controls, Pneumatics, Electronics, etc.)

Experience

  • Either two years of experience as a CNC Machine Mechanic B or equivalent previous experience with maintenance of CNC machining equipment (9+ years of similar experience).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to disassemble equipment, access problems, and reassemble in an expeditious manner (Equipment includes: electrical systems, Programmable Logic Control systems, hydraulic pumps/systems, gearboxes/transitions, and pneumatic systems).

  • Understand safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, operations, or acts, which might cause injury to self, others, or the environment.

  • Read and understand mechanical prints and electrical schematics.

  • Proficient working knowledge of a variety of electronic controls.

  • Ability to adjust machines physical placement and parameters to original machine specifications.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to take work direction and complete tasks in an organized and timely manner.

  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to lead and instruct co-workers.

The base pay range for this position is listed below, exclusive of fringe benefits or other compensation. If you are hired, your final base hourly rate will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, competencies, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
