Picture your morning starting with a quick pass through the assembly cells—5S spot checks, a glance at yesterday’s uptime, and a brief huddle with team leads. By 9 a.m., you’re aligning with Customer Service, Production Control, and Paint leadership to confirm priorities, resolve any constraints, and protect the schedule for a flagship product line you own end-to-end. Midday, you’re in the cell refining a new assembly operation you helped design, tightening quality controls, and coaching associates as they cross-train. In the afternoon, you translate performance metrics into actions that lift safety, throughput, and first-pass yield—closing the day with updates for stakeholders and a plan to keep momentum tomorrow.

What you’ll lead and deliver
  • Team leadership: Direct the daily work of assembly teams across multiple operational areas to meet manufacturing demand.
  • Program ownership: Run the assembly program for a high-profile product line from launch through steady state.
  • Production coordination: Partner daily with Customer Service, Production Control, and Paint to safeguard schedules and resolve roadblocks.
  • Quality and engineering: Own final product quality; design and develop new assembly operations; continuously optimize existing processes for efficiency.
  • Workforce planning: Translate forecasts and open orders into staffing and task assignments; build flexibility via ongoing cross-training.
  • Performance and CI: Analyze KPIs to drive safety, productivity, quality, and uptime improvements through structured problem solving.
  • Talent development: Conduct reviews, identify skill gaps, create development plans, and manage time/attendance in line with policy.
  • Workplace excellence: Lead daily production updates; manage order fulfillment status; address downtime and quality issues; perform daily 5S audits.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in an engineering or technical field.
  • Experience: 3+ years in manufacturing leadership preferred; product engineering exposure is a plus.
  • Lean: Hands-on familiarity with 5S, Standard Work, problem solving, and value stream mapping preferred.
  • Systems: Comfortable with ERP platforms; proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
