Manufacturing Equipment Engineer – Paint Production Engineering
(1503407)

Manufacturing Equipment Engineer to support the Paint Production Engineering team in Georgetown, Kentucky. This role focuses on planning, developing, and implementing manufacturing equipment for new model launches, facility improvements, and equipment lifecycle projects across North American operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong manufacturing background, hands-on equipment experience, and project management skills who enjoys working both in the office and on the production floor.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and support manufacturing equipment projects for paint shop operations.
  • Develop equipment specifications and technical documentation for new and existing manufacturing systems.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes and equipment capabilities to support capital projects.
  • Manage equipment installation, commissioning, inspections, and project implementation.
  • Support conveyor systems, paint line equipment, automation, and material handling projects.
  • Create project presentations, reports, and KPI updates for leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, maintenance, production, and supplier teams.
  • Develop and improve equipment standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Participate in on-site inspections, quality checks, and equipment acceptance activities.
  • Identify project risks and develop effective countermeasures to ensure successful execution.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing equipment projects in an industrial environment.
  • Strong project management and equipment planning experience.
  • Experience developing equipment specifications and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of automation, robotics, conveyor systems, or material handling equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Automotive manufacturing experience (Toyota experience is highly preferred).
  • Paint shop or Paint Production Engineering (PE) experience.
  • SEIBI experience.
  • CAD or AutoCAD experience.
  • Equipment maintenance background.
  • Machine Risk Assessment (MSRC) experience.
  • New model launch experience.
  • A3 or Ringi documentation experience.
  • PLC knowledge.
  • Vision system or robot programming experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
Work Environment
  • Location: Georgetown, KY (100% Onsite)
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Travel: Approximately 30% domestic travel
  • Overtime: Up to 15% during weekends, shutdowns, and project support
  • PPE: Steel-toe shoes required; additional PPE provided onsite
