Job description

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
To set up and operate paint application equipment to paint various production materials to production specifications.
SHIFT HOURS: Mon-Fri 2:15PM - 10:45PM
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Use of manual and automatic spraying equipment, to apply paint to all component surfaces conveyed automatically through the powder booth.
  • Hang materials to be spray painted onto conveyor and/or unload painted material from the conveyor.
  • Clean and refill all powder feeding units/spraying equipment and record powder usage.
  • Review shop packet specifications; select the correct color from the stock shelves; and apply the powder by means of manually operated powder gun
  • Unload components and perform visual inspection to ensure complete paint coverage and quality standards have been met.
  • Touch up minor paint defects as required.
  • Stack completed work on pallets/hand trucks; re-identify customer orders; apply appropriate ID tag and deliver material to the next specified production department.
  • Complies with all applicable safety procedures and reports unsafe conditions or potential safety hazards to team leader or appropriate resource.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Notifies team leader or other appropriate resource when problems arise concerning equipment, operations, materials, inventory, documentation, etc.
  • Performs set-up duties on finishing system equipment and the safety devices in accordance with production documentation.
  • Positions production materials and tooling and maintains proper dimensions according to print specifications.
  • Selects and moves production materials as required.
  • Performs other sanding and tacking as required.
  • Maintains production equipment and materials necessary to complete the operation.
  • Performs work in a timely manner to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Ensures that products and systems meet nVent's quality specifications.
  • Performs transactions necessary to maintain accurate records and inventory balances.
  • Performs other work as assigned or as needed.
  • Participate actively as a team member to achieve continuous improvement through lean activities to meet both internal and external customer needs with regard to safety, quality, delivery, cost and cash. Participate in events to implement lean methods and reduce waste in all aspects of the process.

JOB CRITERIA:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Powder coat painting experience
  • Knowledge of powder coat painting in manufacturing environment
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing business circumstance and have the ability to thrive in a constantly changing business environment.
  • Skill to utilize the following machines and tools:
  • Material handling equipment: pallet jack, lift tables, wheeled carts, etc.
  • Safety equipment: safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, etc.
  • Hand tools: pliers, hammer, wrenches, sockets, files, screw drivers, etc.
  • Measurement tools: calipers, scales, go / no-go gauges, etc.
  • Fixtures
  • Computers

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range:
$14.80 - $27.50 Per Hour
Depending on the position offered, employee may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as annual incentives.
