Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example in maintaining a safe, professional work environment while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and job site safety requirements.
  • Review project documentation, specifications, and schedules to ensure crews are prepared and aligned with project scope, timelines, and quality expectations.

  • Coordinate daily jobsite activities, including directing crew members, staging materials, organizing equipment, and planning workflows to maximize productivity and efficiency.

  • Train, mentor, and supervise installers, providing guidance on installation techniques, material mixing procedures, safety practices, and quality standards.
  • Perform and oversee surface preparation activities, including grinding, scarifying, sanding, crack repair, joint repair, moisture mitigation, and substrate evaluation.
  • Mix, install, and oversee the application of epoxy, urethane, MMA, polyaspartic, and other resinous flooring systems using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Conduct quality control inspections throughout the installation process to ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications, company standards, and customer expectations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, material usage records, production tracking, safety logs, and change orders.

  • Communicate effectively with customers, general contractors, project managers, and team members to provide project updates, resolve issues, and ensure successful project completion.
  • Troubleshoot installation challenges, develop effective field solutions, and make sound decisions to keep projects on schedule while maintaining quality standards.
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment, promptly reporting any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Travel daily from the shop to project sites throughout Vermont and Northern New York. Overnight travel may be required to support project schedules and customer needs.

Requirements:

  • Completion of or the ability to complete an OSHA‑10 course (or proof of prior completion).
  • Ability to use a respirator and complete a required fit test as part of essential safety procedures.
  • Commitment to a substance‑free work environment.
  • Experience with basic construction techniques (e.g., painting, carpentry).
  • Ability to apply coatings using brushes and rollers.
  • Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions) to determine mix ratios during project work.
  • Ability to read and understand chemical data sheets and follow application instructions.
  • Valid Vermont driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to reliably report to the workshop and travel to job sites.
  • Ability to follow established processes, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with others in a team environment.

The following physical and environmental demands reflect tasks that are essential to the role and may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position or move about the worksite for extended periods.
  • Ability to position oneself to perform tasks at floor level, including bending, kneeling, or reaching.
  • Ability to move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to operate electrical and mechanical equipment such as grinders, drills, sanders, polishers, and generators.
  • Ability to work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including varying temperatures, dust, and noise levels.
  • Ability to travel daily to project sites; occasional overnight travel with notice.

Work Environment

Work is performed on residential and commercial project sites, as well as in a workshop setting for tasks such as tool cleaning, equipment maintenance, and preparing materials for upcoming projects.
