1st Shift Hours: Monday - Thursday 5:00AM - 3:30PM

Pay:

Painter I - $19.75/hour

Painter II - $20.50/hour

Painter III - $21.25/hour

The Painter is expected to safely complete supervised powder coat paint established procedures, processes, or policies. Paint Hangers safely and efficiently load and unload raw parts from the paint line. The Paint Hangers are expected to move efficiently and safely with the end result being a ready to use part or assembly.

Paint I - Major Responsibilities

  • Loading, transferring, and unloading of parts on and/or from paint line

  • Process each part by hanging/racking to paint application

  • Inspect quality of parts before and after finishing process

  • Perform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)

  • Constantly work in a constantly high heat environment

  • Inspect quality of parts before and after finishing process

  • Exchange and break down racks and prepare for burn-off

  • Maintain proper counts

  • Report all scrap

  • Perform stock handling duties as required

  • Maintain a clean work environment

Painter II - Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform cleaning and other preliminary operations to prepare materials for coating

  • Perform painting operation in paint booth

  • Assist with maintaining of paint equipment

Painter III - Major Responsibilities:

  • Perform work duties in a safe manner and in accordance with policy (including wearing required proper personal protective equipment, work habits and performing appropriate housekeeping duties)

  • Perform painting process in painting system watching for appropriate paint coverage and quality coatings for parts.

  • Flex across different products / areas to support business needs.

  • Provide training to new employees or employees learning new work areas to work instructions/standard work.

Painter I - Minimum Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • 0-2 years of experience

  • Detail oriented and organized

Painter II - Minimum Job Requirements

  • Painter I requirements

  • Able to pass a pulmonary function test to ensure they are able to wear an air hood.

Painter III - Minimum Job Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in a powder coat painting environment and able to pass a pulmonary function test. (PPE requirement)

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in root cause problem solving (5 Why, 8D, PDCA, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience effectively training other employees to work instructions/standard work.

  • Previous experience using SAP or equivalent ERP system (Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics)

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
