Job Description
JOB DETAILS
Base Pay $16.00 per hour
1st Shift Monday - Friday, 7am - 3pm
Weekly Pay

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Paint Production Associates will load, touch-up, pair, pack, and stack all product.
  • Load-Inspect Shutters for painted ends, breakage, or molding defects. Shutters should be loaded in a manner that maximizes line efficiency (No gaps between shutters unless instructed by supervisor)
  • Maintain housekeeping during periods of downtime
  • Inform reciprocator operator of any unusual noises from equipment
  • Record all downtime on sheets that are provided
  • Touch-up Inspect shutters for paint defects (drips, streaks, light coverage, oil, etc
  • Notify reciprocator operator of any of these conditions
  • Repair defects and place shutters back on the line before the next change
  • Keep the shutters pushed together to avoid hang-ups on the line
  • Clean touch-up spray equipment completely at the end of each shift and during color changes
  • Maintain housekeeping during periods of downtime
  • Pairer
    • Watches shutters for obvious defects
    • Install the correct hardware and instruction sheets, pair two shutters and move them to the first packer in such manner that would avoid a bottle-neck in the production line
    • Maintain housekeeping during periods of downtime
  • 1st Packer
    • Assist in placing empty cartons in packing cradle
    • Pull paired shutters in to the carton in a manner that will allow the pairer to have room to push their shutters up, and lift the shutters so they will not be scratched on the bottom
    • Maintain housekeeping during periods of downtime
    • Center shutters in carton, and feed into glue machine, be sure to space the cartons to avoid hang-ups further down the line
  • Stacker
    • Check cartons to insure proper gluing and print identification is correct
    • Palletize cartons in an orderly manner; be sure not to mix odd sized or styled shutters on the same pallet. Maintain housekeeping during periods of downtime
    • Assist M/C operator and material handler whenever needed to keep production process in operation
  • Break relief operators
    • Keep a supply of Cellwood instruction sheets folded to meet the daily production schedule, also entry way instruction sheets as required
    • This operator should be able to perform all the jobs listed above except Stacker
    • Maintain housekeeping during periods of downtime
  • All operators listed on this job description should perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications
  • Machine Operator experience required
  • Forklift experience required
  • No attendance issues
  • Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to read, write and perform basic math skills as job duties require
  • Must possess common sense, positive attitude, and demonstrate excellent attendance.
  • Must be quality and safety conscious, a team player.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
  • Must have excellent manual dexterity and be able to concentrate for sustained periods.
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to interact with people
  • Must have the ability to determine colors
  • Working Conditions: Extensive standing, frequent bending, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting and walking. Extreme weather conditions
  • Equipment/Tools Used: Hearing protection, safety glasses, tape measure, sawing glove, hack saw, packing gloves, stamp and stamp pad
  • Safety: Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times. Safely perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals. Required to wear or use personal protective equipment as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditions
  • Comply with all legislative requirements as outlined by Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations
  • Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each Associate's performance appraisal
