Estimator: Paint and Drywall
The Organization
Our client is a rapidly growing woman-owned and minority-owned commercial contractor specializing in drywall, paint, insulation, and commercial construction services throughout Alabama.
The Role
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, quantity takeoffs, change orders, and bid packages for commercial drywall, paint, and related construction projects. This individual will work closely with ownership and project management while helping improve estimating processes and support future growth within the department.
Core Responsibilities
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects
  • Document Review: Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
  • Quantity Takeoffs: Perform quantity takeoffs and material pricing
  • Change Orders: Prepare and manage change orders
  • Procurement Support: Support purchasing and procurement activities
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate with project management and operations teams
  • Process Improvement: Develop and improve estimating processes and procedures
  • Staff Development: Assist with training and mentoring future estimating staff
Requirements
  • Language Skills: Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Experience: 10+ years of commercial estimating experience
  • Specialization: Strong drywall and paint estimating experience
  • Project Experience: Experience with commercial construction projects
  • Knowledge Base: Strong knowledge of takeoffs, bidding, and change orders

Compensation & Performance
