Job description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Dispersion Chemist to support coatings development and technical operations within their Lansing, Illinois facility. This individual will work hands-on in the lab preparing and testing dispersion-based paint samples, while collaborating cross-functionally to support production, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on lab work, problem-solving, and working closely with both technical and manufacturing teams.


Required Skills & Experience
• 3–5 years of experience working hands-on with coatings, paints, or dispersion technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Materials Science, or a related science field
• 2+ years of hands-on lab or coatings/chemistry experience
• Experience working with paints, coatings, dispersions, or similar chemical systems (horizontal bead mills, oral/bead mills, ceramic mills in solvent-borne systems)
• Ability to safely handle chemicals (including isocyanates) using proper PPE
• Experience preparing and documenting lab-scale formulations or prototype batches
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, documentation)
