Job description

SUMMARY OF ROLE
Supports operations by preparing products for painting, painting products according to specifications, with limited waste and materials, and cleaning work sites. Perform designated steps in work processes in a safe manner wearing required personal protective equipment while maintaining required quality and production standards and records. Successfully operates equipment, handheld tools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
• Maintain adequate paint inventory to meet current and future production requirements.
• Be a designated helper to ensure product is properly prepared for painting.
• Locates and verifies products for painting. Inspect products and verify reels are properly prepared before painting.
• Correctly and safely mix paint according to specifications. Keep area clean and safe.
• Paint products according to required specifications and prints with minimal paint waste and efficient use of paint and supplies.
• Maintains clean and safe work site by sweeping and disposing of hazardous materials, following OSHA and MSDS safety standards. Properly wearing personal protective equipment which includes the required full-face respirator and coveralls.
• Returns necessary items to storage and maintains paint waste records according to EPA standards.
• Completes daily production records and hourly records product performance on designated board.
• Complete annual safety medical evaluation for proper full-face respirator fit. Keep respirator clean and stored properly according to safety standards.
• Receives direction from Lead person, Production Manager & Office Manager.
• Maintains work records by entering daily production and quality sheets.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in training.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects using proper lifting and handling techniques. Use various material handling equipment.
• Ability to work in a confined and vented space while wearing coveralls and full-face respirator. This means limited facial hair to obtain a secure fit.
• Ability to work independently with the highest regard for quality and efficiency levels.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and human relation skills that positively benefits interaction with all company employees.
• Operates a variety of light equipment and hand tools.
• Perform equipment operation and other maintenance tasks according to established safety and risk management practices. This includes properly using an overhead crane
• Follow Company Polices and Safety Standards, this includes OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Must know how to read and interpret instructions. Highly organized, dependable, reliable and trustworthy.
• Be available to work a flexible work schedule, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Ability to accurately measure and apply simple math functions.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and other pre-employment screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS include but are not limited to:

  • Lift, carry or roll items up to 50+ lbs., seek assistance in lifting if necessary.
  • Use arms, legs, feet, hands and fingers to operate tools and light equipment including paint sprayer.
  • Frequently move the whole body to perform tasks such as climbing, lifting, balancing, painting, walking, and handling of materials.
  • Stand or walk for long periods of time.

• A full-face mask respirator is required PPE for this position. An annual medical evaluation, fit testing and limited facial hair are necessary. This position requires the wearing of coveralls to avoid paint on clothes.
  • Climb up and down ladders, and other objects.
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl in awkward positions.
  • See well (naturally or with correction).
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
