Job Overview:

The Warehouse Painting Technician in the commercial siding industry plays a pivotal role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal and protective coating of commercial buildings. This position requires technical expertise in painting techniques, knowledge of materials, and a keen eye for detail. This role is essential for enhancing the appearance and durability of buildings. This position requires a skilled individual with a passion for painting, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work effectively within a team

Essential Job Duties:

Surface Preparation

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, and applying primers as necessary.
  • Ensure all surfaces are smooth and free of imperfections before applying paint.
  • Operate machinery that measures, cuts, and paints siding materials for commercial construction projects

Paint Application

  • Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
  • Achieve uniform coverage and desired finish while adhering to specifications and industry standards.
  • Mix and match paint colors and textures as required.
  • Operate machinery that measures, cuts, and paints siding materials for commercial construction projects

Quality Control

  • Follow production document specifications (measurements, paint colors, etc.)  carefully to ensure 100% accuracy to builder's requests
  • Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations.
  • Touch up imperfections or areas requiring additional attention.
  • Move material from various storage and workstations to keep the manufacturing and production process on schedule

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to protect personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and proper disposal of materials.

Customer Interaction

  • Communicate with clients to understand their preferences and specifications.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with other painters and technicians to coordinate projects and ensure efficient completion.
  • Assist in training new painters and apprentices as needed.

Qualifications:

Education

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.

Relevant Experience

  • Proven experience in commercial painting, particularly in siding applications.
  • Proficiency in painting techniques, including surface preparation, mixing paints, and applying finishes.
  • Forklift Certification is a plus.

Other

  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and overtime as needed.
