What is paid modeling?

Paid modeling refers to professional modeling work where individuals are compensated for their time and appearance in photoshoots, runway shows, commercials, or promotional events. Models may work for fashion brands, advertising campaigns, magazines, or product promotions. The pay structure can vary based on the model's experience, the specific job, and the client. Paid modeling can be a part-time or full-time career, and often involves working with modeling agencies or directly with clients.

What can I expect during a typical photoshoot as a paid model?

During a typical photoshoot as a paid model, you can expect to work closely with photographers, makeup artists, stylists, and creative directors to achieve the desired look and mood for the project. You may be asked to pose in various outfits, follow direction on posture and facial expressions, and adapt quickly to changes in lighting or setting. Time management and professionalism are essential, as shoots can last several hours and often involve multiple outfit or location changes. Being communicative, flexible, and open to feedback will help build positive relationships with the creative team and may lead to more opportunities in the future.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a paid model, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Paid Model, you generally need a strong portfolio, physical fitness, and the ability to pose and take direction well, often supported by agency representation or relevant modeling experience. 3D Solid Modeler / CAD Engineer (Automotive Coachbuilding)

Company: SaltWorks MFG
Location: Sarasota, FL
Job Type: Full-Time
This is not a drafting position.

If your experience is limited to making drawings from someone else’s ideas, this is not the role.
We are looking for a true problem solver—someone who understands how parts are made, how systems work together, and how to turn complex ideas into real, manufacturable components.
What We Do

SaltWorks builds high-end, one-off custom vehicles. Every part, every system, every interface is intentional. We don’t follow templates—we create them.
What You’ll Be Responsible For

  •  Design and model complex, one-off components from concept to production
  •  Develop manufacturable solutions for real-world problems (not theoretical CAD)
  •  Work directly with fabrication, machining, and assembly teams
  •  Create parts that go from screen → machine → vehicle with minimal iteration
  •  Insure designs based on fit, function, and performance
What We’re Looking For

  •  Strong experience in 3D CAD modeling (Fusion 360 preferred)
  •  Deep understanding of:
    •  Machining processes (CNC, billet, sheet forming, etc.)
    •  Material behavior and tolerances
    •  Assembly relationships and real-world constraints
  •  Ability to think through a part before modeling it
  •  Speed and efficiency without sacrificing accuracy
  •  Self-driven mindset—always learning, always improving
This Role Requires

  •  Problem-solving under pressure
  •  High attention to detail
  •  Ownership of your work from start to finish
  •  The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment
What We Value

  •  Passion for the automotive/custom fabrication industry
  •  Pride in craftsmanship—even in digital work
  •  People who invest in themselves and stay on top of their game
  •  Team players who elevate those around them
What You Won’t Find Here

  •  Repetitive production modeling
  •  Slow corporate processes
  •  Hand-holding or micromanagement
What You’ll Get

  •  Work on some of the highest-end custom builds in the industry
  •  Direct collaboration with elite fabricators, machinists, and builders
  •  A fast-paced environment where your work matters immediately
  •  Competitive compensation based on skill and output
How to Apply

Send:
  • thom@saltworksmfg.com
  • Put "I want to be a Saltworks Cad Modeler"  In Subject.
  •  Resume or experience summary
  •  Portfolio of your CAD work (must include parts designed for real-world manufacturing)
  •  Brief explanation of a complex part you designed and how you approached it
