IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering Intern in Seattle, WA or the Portland/Vancouver area. Over 10-12 weeks,you'llassistin the analysis, design, andimplementationoversight of electrical systems in buildings as part of a team of experienced engineers and consultants. This is a paid internship with real project work and hands-on exposure to building systems design.

In this role,you'llsupport project documentation, coordination, and design progress while working within project budgets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.You'llcontribute to work across hospitality, mixed-use, and government markets, supporting high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030.

What You'll Do

  • Assistwith design portions of projects related to discipline systems according to code and IMEG standards

  • Assistwith researching commercially available equipment resources

  • Assistwith client relations, project design notebooks, and documentation for permanent record files

  • Assistwith coordinating design and schedules with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and equipment suppliers

  • Assistwith documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions whilemonitoringproject design progress

  • Assistwith reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness prior to requesting a final check

  • Assistwith preparing and issuing addendum information

  • Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement

What You'll Bring

Education

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong interest in design consulting

  • Previousexposure to CAD and/or BIM software

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

  • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

State of Washington Pay Range: $22-24 per hour

The range listed aboverepresentsthe base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work locationidentifiedabove at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will bedeterminedbased on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
